The popular social sharing app WhatsApp Messenger is now crossed 150 billion user mark. It is the first app which has crossed this milestone in the short time of period. In the annual meeting of Facebook Inc, founder & CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled these facts about WhatsApp & other photo sharing app Instagram. On the WhatsApp, users daily sends 60 billion average messages, more than any other social media app. In the 1.5 billion users there are 1.3 billion active users who post on daily basis. This is the highest rate in between all Facebook apps.
On WhatsApp 300 million users uses Status feature regularly to post interesting status and post more than 178 million status daily. It has surpassed its rival app Snapchat in every corner. Actually, WhatsApp Status is Snapchat feature in the first place, later come to WhatsApp, Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Instagram. Now all the Facebook apps have surpassed Snapchat for sharing daily updates in Status feature.
Instagram is more popular than WhatsApp in status feature. More Instagram users uses status than WhatsApp users. Facebook bought WhatsApp back in 2014 when it had only 450 million monthly active users and 315 million daily active users. Before acquisition, WhatsApp was charging $0.99 for a year from customers. Afterwards Facebook made it free for everyone and went with advertising model.
To make earnings from WhatsApp, Facebook has released WhatsApp Business app in the market. It is exclusively launched for all marketers and promotions of the companies. Big companies like Netflix are already using WhatsApp Business tool to send program schedules and other important updates with its customers.
