Galaxy S21 Series Received thier Last Software Update

January 26, 2026

Samsung launched the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra on January 14, 2021, and at that time, the company promised three years of major Android OS updates and five years of security patches for these flagship devices. Now, as the five-year security support period comes to an end this month, Samsung has released what could be the final January software update for the Galaxy S21 series.

The latest update brings the January 2026 security patch, which fixes a total of 55 security vulnerabilities. These fixes are aimed at improving system security and protecting users from potential threats, ensuring that the devices remain safe even in the final stage of official support. Although no new features are included, the update is important for maintaining stability and safeguarding personal data.

Galaxy S21 January Update

Currently, Samsung has started rolling out the update in South Korea, which is the company’s home market. The firmware version for this release is G99xNKSSCHZA5. As usual, the rollout will expand gradually to other regions over the next few days, depending on the country and carrier.

Galaxy S21 series users can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings, then Software update, and selecting Download and install. Once installed, this update is expected to mark the end of Samsung’s official security support for the Galaxy S21 lineup, closing a significant chapter for one of the brand’s most popular flagship series.
