Among the Galaxy F series smartphones, the entry-level Galaxy M15 has become the first Galaxy M series phone to receive this year’s first update. Yesterday, the firmware was released for Galaxy F15, Galaxy F05, and Galaxy F23 phones, and now Samsung turns to M series devices. The new January firmware loads with important improvements focused on security and overall system stability. It launches new M156BXXS8CZA3 software code in a 316MB file size.
According to the update details, the Galaxy M15 is receiving the January 2026 security patch, which addresses multiple vulnerabilities found in previous software versions. These security fixes help safeguard user data, improve system reliability, and reduce the risk of potential exploits. Along with security enhancements, the update also includes general bug fixes that resolve known issues reported by users in earlier builds.

The new firmware is based on One UI 8.0 running on Android 16, indicating that Samsung continues to extend the latest software experience to its budget and mid-range lineup. The update package size is around 316 MB, making it relatively lightweight and easy to download even on limited data connections.
Samsung also notes that after installing this update, users will not be able to downgrade to older software versions due to updated security policies. Galaxy M15 users are advised to keep their devices updated regularly to enjoy optimal performance, better stability, and improved protection. The rollout may happen in phases so that availability can vary by region and network operator.
