Samsung continues to expand the usefulness of the Now Bar with ongoing improvements in One UI 8.5, based on Android 16. When the feature was first introduced, Now Bar was limited to showing the status of a handful of ongoing activities, most of which came from Samsung’s own first-party apps. Over time, the company has steadily widened its scope by adding support for more contextual information, including sports match win predictions and updates from Google Commute.
Now, a new enhancement appears to be on the way. According to a post on X by tipster Tarun Vats, the Now Bar in One UI 8.5 can display the number of missed calls directly on the lock screen or status area. This addition could prove to be especially useful, allowing users to keep track of missed calls at a glance without opening the Phone app or notification panel. An image shared alongside the claim suggests that the feature is already functional in a newer build.

At present, Samsung has released the One UI 8.5 beta only for the Galaxy S25 series. However, current beta versions reportedly do not include missed call support in Now Bar, indicating that the leaked screenshot may be from an internal or more recent test build. If this feature rolls out publicly, it will further strengthen Now Bar’s role as a central hub for real-time, glanceable information.
