Galaxy A73 smartphone which is the last smartphone in the A70 series, is finally receiving the January 2026 security patch. The latest version is now available to install in India, and other countries will get it. The update is now reaching users in select regions and is expected to expand more widely in the coming days. According to the update details, the Galaxy A73 is receiving One UI 8.0 based on Android 16.
The firmware package is A736BXXSAGZA1 code, and it is around 396MB in size and includes the January 1, 2026, security patch level. As usual with such releases, Samsung has focused on improving system security, fixing known issues, and enhancing overall device reliability rather than introducing new features.

This update is particularly significant because it marks the final major One UI upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy A73. With Android 16 and One UI 8.0, the device has now completed its promised major OS update cycle. While Samsung is expected to continue providing security patches for some time, the Galaxy A73 will not be eligible for the future One UI 9 update.
For existing users, this release ensures the device remains secure and stable in daily use, even as it approaches the later stage of its software support life. Users can check for the update by heading to Settings, then Software update, and tapping Download and install. It’s recommended to install the update as soon as it becomes available to benefit from the latest fixes and protections.
