AirPods Studio May Feature Head & Neck Detection

Apple is planning to launch its premium over-ear headphones alongside its next-generation iPhone series, later this year. 9to5Mac reports that Apple’s upcoming over-ear headphones will be named as AirPods Studio. A recent report from 9to5Mac suggests that AirPods Studio may feature head and neck detection technology as well as custom equalizer setting. The name of this over-ear headphones stands in contrast with the earlier reports which mention that AirPods branding will be exclusive for wireless headphones.

AirPods Studio will feature a sensor to detect whether the over-ear headphone is on the head or neck. This neck detection sensor will automatically pause the audio and video content when headphones are on the neck and will playback when putting on the head. This sensor resembles with AirPods TWS earphone series which automatically pauses the content when earphones are removed and resumes when reinserted.

There will not predetermine right or left channels on the upcoming AirPods Studio to wear it. The inbuilt sensor will detect the right and left side for sending channel sound. Besides the report also suggests that pairing of headphones with iOS or Mac devices will enable the custom equalizer setting to adjust the sound frequency to adjust with your demands. Further, these over-ear premium headphones could also have an active noise cancellation feature and transparency mode.

Earlier in April Bloomberg’s report mentioned that these headphones will also feature an interchangeable earpad and headband padding. According to the reports, Apple’s premium over-ear headphones will cost around $350. These headphones will be available in premium and fitness-centric material models for the customers. We have to wait until the iPhone 12 series launching events which would unveil in September-October this year, to have these over-ear headphones.
