Android 12L Beta Starts, But Not for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 & Flip 3

Google has opened a beta testing program for the Android 12L version. It is the modified software from the company for tablets and foldable phones. As mentioned in September, Google is now recruiting Pixel users to test the beta version before going live. For surprise or some reason, the beta program is not available for Samsung foldable phones. Google has announced that the new version is specially made for foldable phones, but the beta program is saying something else.

Samsung has the majority shares of these devices and Galaxy Z Fold 3 & Flip 3 have the big slices of shares. Both the devices have participated in the Android 12-based One UI 4 beta program, with the promise of a stable version in the coming days. Samsung’s beta program could be the reason, the devices including Galaxy Z Flip & Fold 2 have missed Google’s beta testing as Samsung is currently running its own.

Android 12L Beta Starts

At current, selected Google Pixel devices and Lenovo Tab P12 Pro are receiving the first version of Android 12L beta. The final release will go live in early 2022 for supported devices. In the Android 12L version, you will see a new taskbar at the bottom of the screen, a new layout of the home screen & lock screen, and many other changes.
