The Apple Watch is leading the smartwatch market and the Galaxy Watch 3 of Samsung is not far behind. Apple has been the leader of the market since 2015 and has maintained its position till the recent quarter. The smartwatch market has been growing and has increased by 6% in the 3 months ending in September 2020 compared to the previous year. Apple recently launched Apple Watch SE and Watch Series 6 that will surely lead in the holiday quartile.
Apple leads the market and has gone from 26% from last year to 28% this year. The company has got everyone’s attention by introducing its pocket-friendly Apple Watch SE which came with features like an activity tracker and even water resistance so you can use it in the swimming pool as well. It also offered Built-in cellular that lets you attend calls, stream music, and enable your voice assistant. Not just this but also a heart rate monitor, sleep tracking, and emergency SOS alert.
Huawei is not so far behind and is coming in second place with 15% of global smartwatch shipments. The most loved product of this brand seems to be kid-focused devices. Samsung made its place in the top 3 and comes in third place with 10% of sales last quarter from 8% that was seen last year. Its winner was Galaxy Watch 3 that was brought to the people as a premium wear smartwatch. At the 4th place, we have Chinese giant BBK and Fitbit by Google on the 5th place.
China has become the largest smartwatch market with 30% of the shipments last quarter. India rules as the fastest-growing region by having shipments grow to up to 95%. This last quarter has been quite beneficial to the smartwatch market which leads to a drastic expansion of smartwatch line-ups by various brands.
