August Security Patch for Galaxy S & Galaxy Note Series Devices

Update (August 5): Galaxy S20 & Note 20 Receives August Patch

It is now Galaxy S20 & Galaxy Note 20 series turn to receive Android’s August 2021 security update. The new version is serving in the US (Via SamMobile) for these a year old flagship smartphones. The firmware version starts with G98xU1UES2DUG6 has released for Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ & Galaxy S21 Ultra devices. For the Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra, you will notice new firmware version N98xU1UES2DUG1. As per the changelog, Samsung has enhanced camera performance along with minor features.

On August 3rd, we are getting news from China where the Galaxy S21 series have upgraded to the August security patch. The Galaxy S21, S21+ & S21 Ultra were the first devices to jump to the June & July security software, but not this month. The Galaxy A52 & Galaxy A72 are the first in line to get the newest August security updates. With the version, the Galaxy S21 lineup can solve minor issues to see better performance.

In China, the Galaxy S21 trio gets firmware numbers G99*0ZCU2AUGE with 304MB in size. The file improves the camera, battery, touchscreen & user experience on the devices. The firmware released in China is always different than the global models. It is not necessary, you will receive the same changes that the Chinese variant receives.

Update (August 3): Galaxy S20 FE is now on the August patch

The Snapdragon variant of Galaxy S20 FE is now on the August security patch of 2021. This 4G LTE model is jumping to the patch in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam & the Philippines. The firmware version is G780GXXS2AUG4 with unknown file size. The Exynos variant of the Galaxy S20 FE has already received an August patch along with Galaxy A52, Galaxy A72 & Galaxy A8 smartphones.
