The Garmin Fenix 6 series & Marq series users can now use dual ANT+/Bluetooth smart HR broadcasting function. The Garmin has brought this function to these series of smartwatches in beta version 9.97 & improved it in 9.98 beta version. The 9.97 version has released last week and now the company is bringing 9.98 beta versions with a couple of improvements. The new feature called smart HR broadcasting will allow users to share their heart rate data with third-party apps using an optical heart rate sensor.
Until now, Garmin watches or particularly, Garmin 6 & Marq series had supported only ANT+ broadcasting. In the ANT+, It was difficult to share your heart rate data with other third-party apps like Zwift or TrainerRoad. Now, with the new function users can share it with these apps on iPhone, iPad, or other devices. To enable it, go to Settings – Sensors – Wrist Heart Hate – Broadcast Heart Rate. Once activate it, it will show connected device via Bluetooth and you can choose to whom you have to share the data.
Apart from that, Garmin has improved some of the existing features for better enhancement. It improves search response time when performing and Around Me or POI search. It also fixes the Golf scoreboard and enhances Surf activity. The newest 9.98 beta version is available for Garmin Fenix 6, 6 Pro, 6s, 6s Pro, 6X Pro, and Marq series smartwatches.
