Samsung has started rolling out May 2019 Android security patch level to its smartphones and Galaxy A9 (2018) is the first device to get it. Last time, the Galaxy A9 received update is when company had released Android Pie 9 version to this model. The previous update was rolled out in March so after two months of gap it is now receiving latest software. The new firmware version is A920FXXU1BSDA and it counts 376.51 MB size. The new version is currently hitting in India and soon it may available in other countries.
The update has come to improve security of the device with latest May 2019 Android security patch by fixing known minor & major bugs. The May 2019 security patch also brings fixes for 21 Samsung vulnerabilities & exposure items that Samsung’s own software has found recently. Users may also feel the difference because of improvements in the features.
To download latest update on Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018), go to Settings > Software Update > Download Updates Manually. The update is now start to hitting in the country so be patient to get your hands on it.
The premium smartphones Galaxy S10 models, Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9 and all upper A series smartphones are still running on April security patch. The other Samsung smartphones may get May security level in coming days or weeks. You can still check your smartphone to see whether there is new software available to install. We will inform you when new firmware rolls out on remaining devices.
Now the May update has been released on Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy One7 Prime, Galaxy A70 & Galaxy J7 Prime 2 smartphones. In that, Galaxy On7 Prime & J7 Prime 2 are getting it with whole new Android Pie 9 version with Samsung’s One UI experience.
