Last month, Galaxy Fold upgraded to official One UI 2.1 update with Galaxy S20 series features. The update was quite late from the schedule and launched after Galaxy S10 & Note 10 devices. Though Galaxy Fold got One UI 2.1 version, some functions were missing from the former update. That update with the remaining function is now rolling out today. The firmware version F900U1UEU3BTDD is currently rolling out in the USA with the May security patch. We can say the Galaxy Fold also late in getting the newest security patches on time.
As per the changelog, Samsung has brought new camera functions to the Fold. The new features are Single Take, Pro mode for video, Selfie tone, My Filters, Night timelapse, AR Zone, as well as the ability to record FHD/UHD videos in 60 frames per second with the front camera. After the installation, all the previous Emojis will be deleted by replacing them with new ones. Once removed, you cant use them later. The version also includes improvements to the AR Emoji with a manual editing feature and improved facial expression recognition.
The 1085MB update is now available to download in the US. You can manually download the update by visiting the Software update menu in Settings. Galaxy Fold is the most expensive smartphone from Samsung with a price of $1980. Still, Samsung always brings new updates to the Fold after all the other flagships & some upper mid-range devices. It happened with Android 10 One UI 2.0 and now launching these missing features.
