After the launch of Wear OS-powered Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic, Samsung hasn’t released any new firmware to its previous Galaxy Watches. Even the last year’s, Tizen OS-based Galaxy Watch 3 was not in the line. Now, after nearly four months, Samsung’s previous-gen smartwatch Galaxy Watch 3 is receiving a new software update. The new version which shares the same changelog as the previous firmware has rolled out in Europe.
The new firmware is quite difficult to recognize in the first place. In July, Samsung has released the same release note in the ‘DUE4’ update. This one has R845FXXU1EUK1 firmware numbers, where ‘K’ indicates November months. It is too early to say what changes the company has brought with it, or it might have improved all these features mentioned in the changelog. If this is true, then you will notice further improved stability & accuracy in the blood oxygen measurement.
The voice guidance support and Auto Lap feature have already been seeded on the Galaxy Watch 3, though you may experience enhanced quality. The new firmware is 50MB in size (the previous was 77MB), and it has been released in Italy. After the new Galaxy Watches, Samsung always releases some of its features to the older models. We wish, the company will bring some of the Galaxy Watch 4 features to the Watch 3, if not Wear OS 3.
