Samsung has quietly taken another step toward its next major software rollout, as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has now been spotted running a One UI 8.5 firmware build on the internal test servers. The early appearance strongly suggests that development for the upcoming foldable is already well underway. The firmware details revealed in the image show the build version F966BXXU7BZB3, along with the matching baseband version carrying the same identifier.
These changes in the code confirm that the software is being prepared specifically for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is expected to debut later this year. Currently, the company is testing One UI 8.5 beta software on the Galaxy S25 series, and the first stable version will be launched on the Galaxy S26 series. While Samsung has not officially announced One UI 8.5 yet, the version number points to an incremental but meaningful update built on top of Android’s next release.

For foldables, this often includes better multitasking behavior, smoother transitions between display modes, and refinements to large-screen app layouts. As testing continues, more builds are expected to surface in the coming weeks, potentially revealing additional clues about new features and optimizations designed specifically for the new foldable devices.
