Garmin officially launched a Fenix 6 smartwatch lineup with some extra added features and solar charging support. The lineup includes Garmin’s first wearable with a transparent solar charging lens. Fenix 6 series has multiple models like Fenix 6, Fenix 6S and Fenix 6X which comes with impressive outdoor and indoor fitness features. The Fenix 6X Pro Solar is the only model in the device which features a transparent solar charging lens aimed at extending the battery life of the device. And yes, recently launched Amazon Music app is there to serve you thousands of songs from different genres.
Solar model absorbs the sun’s energy and extends the 21-day battery life by up to three days, provided that the watch should be used for outside more than 3 hours daily. This extended battery life will let you track all your activities comfortably for the extra time.
Compared to the 1.2 inches display of the Fenix 5 series, all the models in the Fenix series have a larger display. Fenix 6 & 6s comes with 1.3 inches display whereas the 6X features a 1.4 inches display. Bigger display makes it easier to absorb more solar energy.
On the software aspect, the latest series introduces some modifications over Fenix 5 series. It offers the new PacePro feature for the runners, which is aimed at improving race pacing with real-time guidance. It enables users to draw running plans and monitor progress target split pace and actual split pace. Another biggest change in software aspects is new power management which enable users to disable some features to extend battery life.
All the models in the lineup are supported with the new QuickFit nylon bands and silicon colors. The Fenix 6 lineup equipped with Garmin’s latest elevates heart rate feature which can be used for stress tracking and heart rate monitor while swimming.
On the music front, whole the series supports an inbuilt music player that can support 2000 songs and you can sync playlists for offline playback. The latest lineup features topographic maps for trails, slopes and golf courses.
Fenix 6 series can receive notifications from your smartphone as well as it supports contactless Garmin Pay. The price of the lineup starts at $599.99 for Fenix 6 and Fenix 6S, whereas Fenix 6X Pro Solar costs for $1149.99 and it is available in a 51mm watch face. The smartwatch will give tough competition to the Fitbit’s newly released Versa 2 and Samsung’s Galaxy Watch series watches.
