Fitbit working on Google Assistant, Soon Launch on Versa 2

Google Assistant feature that is only limited to Wear OS by Google smartwatches may now come to other platforms. It is what says the new leaking of Google Assistant images & code in the Fitbit app. In November, Google acquired Fitbit company though still waiting for regulatory approval. The acquisition may complete this year but Google is now working with Fitbit in some areas. The new Fitbit APK Leak has suggested soon Google Assistant will debut on Fitbit Versa 2 and later on other selected wearables. Thanks to the 9To5Google we know about the upcoming function. The popular website has also revealed working code & the voice commands to perform in various tasks.

When the Fitbit Versa 2 launched in August, Amazon Alexa was the part of the watch as a personal voice assistant. The Fitbit Versa 2 has a microphone for the voice services and Alexa is the first personal assistant on the smartwatch. With Alexa, you can check the weather reports in your city, set timers, and connect it with home devices. Now, it is going to interesting to see what Fitbit will do if Google Assistant comes to second-generation Versa family watch. Customers can select anyone from both voice assistants from the option or the company will remove Alexa.

Google Assistant is Google’s services so we don’t see it on any other platform. Though, some third-party developers worked hard to built it on other platforms like on Galaxy Watch & Apple Watch series. When the Assistant comes to the Fitbit Versa 2 or Fitbit Versa 3 in the future then we can expect the same functions. It will set the timer, open apps, check the weather reports, play music, connect/disconnect calls, control home devices, and some other tasks.
