Huami’s upcoming smartwatch Zepp Z has received an FCC certificate with the sign of imminent launch. Under the name of Zepp, Huami has launched the Zepp E watch in the circular and rectangular display. It was the basic watch with some essential functions like SpO2, Stress, REM sleep, animated watch faces, and plenty of sports modes. Now, the second Zepp smartwatch could be the first premium watch into the Zepp lineup. The images on the FCC site reveals, one major change coming to the watch and that is its capability of Wi-Fi.
On the listing page, I have seen the model number A1934 assigned to Zepp Z, and it reveals the option ‘Network and Connection’. It surely indicates Wi-Fi will be available on the upcoming Huami smartwatch. Right now, I can’t say anything about whether Huami offers an LTE variant of it, but we can get Wi-Fi to connect with the internet. If it has Wi-Fi on the board, that means there could be separate App Store to download the apps & watch faces. Still, it is too early to speculate anything.
In the second half, Huami has launched Amazfit Neo, Amazfit GTR 2, GTS 2, and Amazfit X devices. Now, on October 16, the company will reveal its another low budget Amazfit Bip U smartwatch in India. The release date for the Zepp Z is still in a mystery box, though we could see it somewhere in November.
