Huawei is Working on 3 New Major Health Functions for Watches

Huawei recently launched Watch GT 3 Pro & Watch D smartwatches with ECG functions. These watches carry all the essential health functions that we get on today’s premium gadgets. As per the Huawei spokesperson, the company is looking forward to bringing some new essential health features to the table. Huawei is working on blood sugar, lung function, and high altitude features for its upcoming smartwatches.

In the wearable industry, no one has tried to bring these functions for now, but the Chinese claim to introduce them in the future. It says their team is working for more than seven years to make it possible for Huawei smartwatches. As per the report, the R&D team has gone from 1.0 to 5.0+ in the last few years.

More on the news, He Gang, COO of Huawei Consumer Business group said that the R&D team Huawei Sports Health Science Laboratory and Huawei Global Research Institute are working together on this project.

Huawei Watch Health Functions

The mentioned blood sugar, lung function, and high altitude will need new sensors and hardware capabilities. It will take some time before these functions go live for the watches. None of the current HarmonyOS 2.0-based watches will get these features, even not Watch GT 3 Pro.

As per my knowledge, Samsung, Google or Apple aren’t working on any of such health features. They are the industry leaders in the wearable market, so they should think about working on such essential features.
