The latest rumor regarding the Huawei reveals that the competition is planning to unveil the new smartwatch. The new watch could name as Huawei Mate Watch and it will operate with the Harmony OS. It has expected to launch alongside the Huawei Mate 40 smartphone lineup, in October this year. Unlike the earlier name Huawei Watch, the upcoming watch will be named as Huawei Mate watch. The tipster from @Rodent mentions the moniker, operating system as well as the potential release date of the upcoming smartwatch.

Probably, this will be the company’s first watch to run on its own OS. Huawei developed its own operating system with the name Harmony OS, as a replacement to Google’s Android OS. As the Huawei’s official partnership with Google was forced to cease. If the rumors are true then this smartwatch will be the company’s next wearable with a different moniker.

Huawei Mate Watch

Previously, Huawei launched watches like Huawei Watch GT 2 and GT 2e. The upcoming smartwatch will run on Harmonies OS instead of OEM’s Lite OS on which the company’s current watches operate. Huawei has developed its own OS as an alternative to Google’s Android & Wear OS and now it has poised to introduce it with the smartwatch. Accordingly, the rumors about Mate Watch and its OS have a high chance of being accurate.
