Huawei Sees Massive Growth in Wearable Market, Sold 18M Devices

In the pandemic, Huawei has turned all the odds in its favor and shown tremendous growth in the year 2020. The Chinese company has sold over 18 million wearables in the last year, which is massive numbers compared to 2019’s 4 million shipments. The last year was really tough for Huawei, as it gets the US ban & the COVID-19 pandemic period. Despite the fact, these numbers are more than enough to show the popularity of its Watch GT 2 series & fitness trackers.

And now, on top of that Huawei has announced to open third-party apps for GT 2 Pro, which will impact the upcoming sales. Apple is still king in the market with 43.6 million shipments. The South Korean company has shipped 11 million units compared to 8 million compared to the previous year. Galaxy Watch 3 & Active 2 are the main reason Samsung is in the third spot. The other Chinese company Huami is now at the top, thanks to the Amazfit GTS, GTR, & Bip lineup.

Huawei Wearable Market Shares

The sixth company on the list is Garmin with 3.4 million shipments. It witnessed sales from 2.75 to 3.4 million sales in the previous year. Garmin launched Fenix, Swim, Forerunner & Vivoactive series in the market. The report from CCS insight says the wearable market will grow to double in size to 388 million units by 2025. In this all, users are neglecting Wear OS watches, and this year too, it has shown a decline in the shares. The Wear OS stood at a 3% market share in the market.
