When Huawei launched Watch GT 2 it comes with NFC support but only limited to China. Now with the latest version, Huawei has brought NFC function to other countries. Users can enable NFC on the smartphone & then lay it on your Watch GT 2. The watch will vibrate once it activates the NFC function. In the new update, Huawei has introduced the OneHop feature to the smartwatch, which works with NFC to transfer files in one tap. It will allow users to customize the watch faces to set up on the main screen. OneHop is the main reason Huawei has activated NFC in other countries. You can choose a watch face on your smartphone & hold it over the watch GT 2, and via NFC it will set on your smartwatch. The use of NFC is now limited but we think the company will add more support to it.
The Huawei smartphones running on EMUI 10.0 or above version can use OneHop on the new wearable to detect the NFC function. The firmware version 18.104.22.168 is now hitting in some countries that count 10.62MB in size. The quick pairing facility has added to connect your gadget with FreeBuds 3, the new earbuds from Huawei. The Sound setting has added to set the sounds for incoming calls and notifications alerts. As we noticed sound has also come to Alarm & Timer features and you can set it from Sounds menu in Settings.
To make it a better fitness watch, Huawei has improved HR monitoring and fixed display issue while checking heart rate data. The new firmware is now rolling out in major countries, including the US, Germany & the Philippines. Last month, previous Watch GT received the latest software that had improved sleep tracking and swim tracking accuracy. Now this month second-generation Huawei Watch GT 2 receiving major software update.
