The Redmi launched entry-level truly wireless earbuds, Redmi Earbuds S, in India on May 27. It sets the price where all the users can get the quality product without hurting their pockets. As a result, Redmi Earbuds S has achieved one lakh sales in the first week. The one lakh milestone or 100K is groundbreaking news for the company and its plan in India in this segment. As the company posted the achievement on Twitter, claims they have sold 15% of all the earbuds that the other companies have sold in the entire first quarter.
If the data is accurate, then it is tremendous growth for the company. As per the IDC report, the wearable market is booming in the country, and TWS earbuds have a considerable contribution. In the first quarter of 2020, Samsung is the winner to sell most of the earbuds, thanks to Galaxy Buds & Galaxy Buds+. Apple stood in second place, and Xiaomi/Redmi was not in the race. Though, in the second quarter, the company has entered this segment. The Redmi Earbuds S has priced at Rs. 1,799 in India, which is another factor in the Redmi’s success to sale too many units.

The wireless earbuds are steadily gaining widespread popularity in India. The Indian market for earbuds has grown 700% YoY in the total shipment. Previously, Samsung & Apple were the only players in the market with their Galaxy Buds & Apple AirPods Pro models, respectively. After the entry of more Chinese players, the prices have come down. The Realme with Buds Air Neo, Huawei with FreeBuds 3i, and Redmi with Earbuds S have set a new boundary.
