Galaxy M16 users in India are now witnessing Samsung’s latest firmware version. It launches the January security patch, which focuses on strengthening device protection by addressing known vulnerabilities and improving overall system security. It was first Galaxy M17 & then Galaxy M15 received the same update, and now Galaxy M16 has also received it. Samsung also highlights that after installing this update, users will not be able to downgrade to older software versions due to updated security policies.
In software code, you will not see any new features, but the regular bug fixes and known issues. The update comes with firmware versions M166PXXS4CZA1, and the download size is around 309 MB. While this update does not introduce major new features, it is expected to enhance system stability, optimize performance, and ensure a smoother day-to-day user experience.

Samsung advised that update availability may vary depending on the region, device variant, and network conditions. As with all software updates, users are advised to back up important data before installation, even though the update should not affect personal files.
Galaxy M16 users can check for the update by navigating to Settings, then Software update, and selecting Download and install. A stable internet connection and sufficient battery charge are recommended before proceeding.
