Tizen, the world’s newest mobile operating system and Samsung’s home-grown smartphone OS has its ups & downs in 2018. After 4 years of Tizen smartphone journey this is the first time when there is not a single smartphone released. Last year Samsung had introduced Samsung Z4 with plenty of features that could compete with many low range Android smartphones. The second tragedy for Tizen users in 2018 was when third party developers decided to stop making any ACL for Tizen apps. After this decision all ACL apps vanished from the store without any notice.
In the smartwatch segment Samsung has done tremendous work by launching Galaxy Watch, the next successor to Gear S3 & Gear Sport. After all of these moves there are still some premium apps trending into the Tizen Store and serving Tizen users with their best features. Tizen Store has listed some of those most popular apps in 2018. With the no surprise some apps are released by indie developers and that’s good sign for Tizen.
The most popular Tizen app in 2018 is WhatsApp Messenger and Facebook & Facebook Messenger are behind it on 2nd & 3rd positions respectively. The loss of UC browser & UC Mini has turned into the benefit of Opera Mini browser, now it is the only third-party browser in Tizen Store. Some other notified apps are Instagram, VLC for Tizen, Temple Run 2, IMO free video calls and chat, Xender, Ludo King 3D, Daily Hunt and WhatsApp Status.
In the new apps Railway Run, Candy Camera, Sweet Candy Fever, Downloader for YouTube, Smart Tutor, Hancom Office viewer and Hill Driver have successfully entered into the top ranks. You can see all the most popular Tizen Apps of 2018 by visiting Tizen Store.
All these apps support on Samsung Z1, Z2, Z3 & Z4 smartphones. If you have missed some of these apps then go to the store and download them on your Samsung Tizen phones. I hope next year Samsung would launch next Tizen smartphone, Samsung Z5 with Tizen 4.0 operating system. What don you think, give us your opinion in the comment box?
