The new report from ETNews claims that the world’s smartwatch leaders, Apple & Samsung could introduce blood sugar monitoring feature. The report further says, both companies are now ready to launch this essential feature and they have registered patents for it. The GizmoChina, another trusted tech site mentions the next smartwatches to get blood sugar function might be Apple Watch Series 7, Galaxy Watch 4 or Galaxy Watch Active 3. All these watches will launch in sesond half of this year, so there are more chances for the function.
The blood sugar monitoring on the watch will help the sugar patients and free them from the needles to test it.
About the patent, “it is how light interacts with chemical bonds of materials. When you irradiate laser light onto a substance, it scatters. These differing wavelengths can be used to monitor the Blood Glucose accurately than before.”
The watches these days offer plenty of features in health department. The blood oxygen level, Electrocardiogram, fall detection, VO2 Max, blood pressure and many such features are now part of every premium watches. Apple & Samsung always give premium services to the users, it would be better to see when both companies introduce this feature on their upcoming wearables.
