In the surprise move, Oppo has introduced its first fitness band in the home country. In the special event held for 25 year anniversary of Neon Genesis Evangelion anime Oppo unveil the various products. We previously known as Oppo is working on a low-cost fitness tracker that could launch in the second half of this year. The teaser had also leaked of the Oppo Band that gives the first few features links. At finally, Oppo has silently launched it in China as an EVA Limited Edition on the occasion of the event. It is the special edition created just for the event and later Oppo will launch the regular version in the market.
The company hasn’t yet revealed any specific date for launching. The Gizmochina website says the band will launch alongside Oppo Reno 4 series smartphones. In the previous render, the company has revealed the next band will have a 2.5D display. It is the only feature that leads to us. As we see in the market, we can be sure the tracker will get SpO2 or blood oxygen monitoring, 24/7 heart rate, sleep & swim tracking.
Oppo Band Special Edition goes live
It may come with weather reports, music control, camera controller, and various workout modes. These are the basic functions on today’s most of the trackers so we could see them on Oppo Band. The Chinese version may also get NFC support like Mi Band 4 & the next Mi Band 5. Oppo Reno 4 will be unpacked on June 5th so we think next week we can see the regular version of the Oppo Band.
Oppo has unveiled its plan for more IoT gadgets in the next few years. A few months ago, Oppo has launched Oppo Watch with many features. Oppo Watch is also the first watch to introduce ECG function on a budget-priced smartwatch, which was previously available on Apple Watch Series 5 & Galaxy Watch Active 2. In the next Oppo reno 4 event, we will get a better idea about the Oppo Band and its price for the major markets.
