The quarterly earnings report hints about Samsung’s most awaited flagships Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 and Samsung Galaxy Note 20. Launching of these two flagship devices is delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and they are predicted to launch later this year. The report mentions about the trends in the selling of premium segment smartphones. Last year Samsung launched Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Fold in the flagship segment which was the first foldable smartphone from the company.
Though launching of Galaxy Note 20 is still a few months away, some leaks talk about its features. Obviously the flagship device will come with 5G connectivity & the more powerful Snapdragon 865 chipset. Also, it will have powered by 4000mAh battery which provides extra use period compared to its predecessor Galaxy Note 10. The smallest variant of the smartphone might have a 128GB internal storage variant. We can expect the starting price range around its predecessor or even higher. All the predecessor device of Galaxy Note 20 were released in either August or September, there is no fixed launching schedule this year.
Galaxy Note 20 & Fold 2 Features
Galaxy Fold 2 would launch alongside Galaxy Note 20 but the leaks help us to get an idea about the device. It will sport a 6.23 inches 2267×819 front screen with a 60Hz refresh rate whereas the main display will be 7.59 inch 2213×1689 one with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will feature a main triple camera setup with 12MP, 16MP, and 64MP sensors along with an in-display selfie camera setup to avoid notch on the screen. Galaxy Fold 2 will either comes with Snapdragon 855 or Snapdragon 855 plus chipset. The source mentions that the device will come with S Pen stylus which is useful for multiple purposes.
Samsung plans to expand its premium smartphone segment market as well as the mid-range phones market. The company has plans to release both top-end and budget-friendly devices in the second or third quarter of the current year. Introducing the mid-range smartphones with 5G capacity will help the company to dominate the market.
