Samsung Launches SmartThings Find App to Find Galaxy Watches, Phones & Earbuds

Ever felt the fear of misplacing your phone? Fear no more, Samsung is now launching a new app called SmartThings Find which will help you to easily locate your Samsung devices even when you aren’t online. Not just your phone, but also your Samsung Galaxy tablet, Galaxy Watch, or even your earbuds. The app will available all over the world to all Galaxy devices.

Samsung will also have a software update for the service on Galaxy phones and tablets having Android 8 or above, Galaxy Watches running Tizen 5.5 or above, and Galaxy Buds Plus and Galaxy Buds Live. The offline feature of the SmartThings Find app will easily help you in locating the device through built-in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ultra-wideband technologies by showing you maps and sounds when you are near the device.

The BLE feature is switched on automatically after being offline for 30 min, hence enabling easy location. The app will then alert the Samsung server requesting the location of your device.

You can choose from having it to ring or have it to show intense color when approaching your device. Your data is always well protected, and the location is only known to you by encryption of your data. Samsung will also expand its services by which you can locate your other belongings, other than just Galaxy devices. The app will soon allow you to control your home through it by connecting it to your television, AC, refrigerator, air conditioner, and many more.
