Samsung, the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer is now became most premium smartphones selling company in India. It has sold more premium smartphones than Apple, OnePlus & Xiaomi. This news may give some smile to South Korean giant. In the last year Samsung had lost its king position in India by satisfying on second spot. The Chinese company OnePlus had beaten Samsung in premium segment in the last quarter of 2017. The first quarter of 2018 is good for company that it again got its first position. Thanks to the new Samsung Galaxy S9 & Galaxy S9+ smartphones which are doing good business in the country. Both devices comes with premium quality design & top notch features with fair prices.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 duo, Galaxy Note 8 and older Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge devices are selling better than their competitors. The main rivalry phone for Samsung in India is OnePlus 5T. The Chinese company has sold more than any other smartphones in the last quarter of previous year. OnePlus 5T offers same features in the lower price tag. It is selling at almost half price of Galaxy Note 8, makes it popular in between Indian customers. This case is different in the first quarter, because both new Samsung devices has worked great in the country.
In last few years Xiaomi has became biggest rival to Samsung in India as well as in China. It has grabbed customers in lower segments. The popular smartphones Redmi Note 4 & Redmi Note 5 are the most selling smartphones in low range category. The result, Samsung came to second spot in the mid range & low range segment. Oppo & Vivo are other brands in this segment which gives tough competition to the South Korean giant.
Apple sales has increased in India but not much to get more shares. The new iPhone X is becoming popular in country but due to its costly price it has very limited customer base. The iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus are other two premium devices from Apple in the market. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 may launch in next August.
