In the major app version, Spotify has introduced an offline mode feature for Apple Watch users. Spotify users on Apple Watches can now download their favorite music and listen to them offline. This way, the largest music streaming service app has achieved two miles. First, now users don’t need an internet connection to listen to songs if they have downloaded them offline. And second most important is now Spotify users don’t require iPhones to use the app. Pandora was the first music app in the App Store, which had announced an offline mode feature.
In the Wear OS event last week, the Spotify team has hinted about without internet music feature. Though it was announced for Wear OS by Google, Apple users are first in line to use it. The Android or Wear OS customers will use it once they receive the new app version in the Play Store. Like Pandora, Spotify allows its Premium users to let use this function. Premium users can download playlists, albums, and podcasts to the Apple Watches. The users who don’t have a premium account may get this function later, but not now.
The update is for all Apple Watches from Apple Watch Series 3 to the new Apple Watch Series 6 & Watch SE. You can install a new app version from the App Store of your smartwatch. The latest update has rolled out in phases, so it may take a while to reach you. Do check your smartwatch to install the new Spotify app.
