Since last year, Wear OS is now gearing up by many smartwatch makers. Last year, first-time Puma & Xiaomi had launched its first smartwatches on Wear OS by Google. The Chinese smartphone maker launched many watches with the co-operation with Huami but with their own OS platform. Now, at the beginning of new year, in the CES 2020, Suunto & Withings have announced new watches that run on Wear OS goodies. The Suunto 7 is a sports watch & Withings ScanWatch is a hybrid smartwatch.
The new Suunto 7
Suunto 7 is a 1.97-inch watch and it has powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 chipset that exclusively made for smartwatches. It is a multi-sport device with over 70 built-in exercise modes for running, cycling, hiking, skiing, surfing and many more. The watch has GPS & other sensors for heart rate tracking, sleep tracking and barometer for elevation readings. It is Wear OS watch so you will get access to Google Fit, Google Pay, Google Map turn-by-turn navigation and Google Play to get hundreds of apps.
Like other premium wearables, it also offers 48 hours of battery life and even low 12 hours in GPS mode. The Apple Watch Series 5 & Galaxy Watch Active 2 has the same battery life in a single charging and Wear OS is not different in this area, the Suunto 7 will available to purchase at the end of the month via the official website for $499 & now you can pre-order it.
The new Withings ScanWatch
Withings ScanWatch is a hybrid watch with a classic analog display. The latest watch concentrate on automatic heart rate & sleep tracking. As per the company it has improved sleep tracking a lot than the previous that now gives accurate results. It comes with an electrocardiogram (ECG) & SpO2 blood oxygen monitoring to check it regularly & tells if there is any problem with breathing disturbances. It comes in 38mm & 42mm sizes – both runs up to 30-days with a single charge.
The Withings ScanWatch 38mm version comes at the cost of $249 and the bigger 42mm comes for $299. To get your hands on the new Withings hybrid watch you have to wait until the second half of 2020. We will inform you about its availability in the market.
