    After Galaxy S22 series, Samsung is now releasing the latest One UI 5.0 version for its previous year’s flagship models. In the new report, the company has distributed a major Android 13 version for older devices. The last year’s Galaxy S21, S21+ & S21 Ultra, previous Galaxy S20, S20+ & S20 Ultra, and Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra phones have received new updates. It is the first time that Samsung has released major software versions for any Galaxy device.

    In the early morning, Galaxy S21 received its new version, and now the remaining models are getting it in different regions. With this trend, we can assume other devices including mid-range devices will soon get the update.

    The firmware version N98*BXXU5GVJE has been released for Note 20 series. The Galaxy S20 series gets the G98*FXXUFGVJE firmware number. And the Galaxy S21 series receives the G99*BXXU5DVJC firmware number.

    One UI 5.0 Update

    In Android 13, users can notice speedy UI, improved animation, changed notifications, call backgrounds as per contacts, advanced Wi-Fi, secured files, seamless sharing, more settings to Samsung Keyboard, and lots of changes.

    All these firmware updates are available to download in European countries. In no time, Samsung will open it for the remaining countries, and within two weeks, it will reach the US.     Samsung has finally opened its One UI 5 Beta testing program for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ & Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones. It is now officially recruiting users in South Korea, and soon it will open in other countries. After Galaxy S22 series, the last year’s flagship models are the second to get the beta version. The users who participated have a chance to use all the Android 13 features before others, and send their feedback to the company.

    In the One UI 5.0 firmware update, Samsung has introduced many new features, improved existing ones, and listened to the users to fix several bugs. The notification center has been enhanced to display better visuals, app icons, and other minor changes. It has also sped up animation to get smooth performance.

    Samsung is now releasing new software updates for Galaxy S21 & Galaxy S22 series smartphones. In the firmware version, the company has brought a couple of new features to the camera and the other areas. The main highlight of the new version is that Samsung has added a telephoto lens in rear hyperlapse mode. It has been added after the demand from users and now the flagship models can use it.

    Furthermore, in the camera, the company has improved QR code scanning. Many users use it, and it has now fixed failure issues, not recognizing QR issues and other minor issues. It has also optimized memory and AI engine in photo/night/ video mode.

    Further, the company has improved Pro Mode Zoom to support telephoto lenses on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The Expert RAW app has also ready for Galaxy Z Fold 3, and it will release in the current month.     In February, Samsung will announce Galaxy S22 series devices, and with it, Samsung will release the next One UI 4.1 version. Later one by one, the new version will come to older Galaxy devices. As per the information shared by Galaxy S Manager, in February, the Galaxy S21 series & Galaxy Note 20 series phones will first receive the upcoming One UI version. Now, as per the spotted firmware, Samsung is already started working on a new version for the Galaxy S21 lineup.

    The leaked firmware shows, the number G99*BXXU4CVA2 has been assigned to the Galaxy S21 models. Though Galaxy Note 20 is also expected to get in the same month, the firmware build is not started yet. It means Samsung is near to launching the next version somewhere in February. The Galaxy S22 will be announced on February 08, so the older models may receive the next version at the end of February in major regions.

    One UI 4.1 Update Spotted

    There is not much information about the upcoming One UI 4.1 version. According to SamMobile, in the next version, we could see better virtual RAM Plus management & better wallpaper-based color theme integration with Google apps.     For the Galaxy S10 & Note 10 lineups, it is the third beta version that comes with a couple of fixes. As per the changelog, it fixes photos taken by camera or from social media not saving on the device, improvements in system slowdown when a notification occurs, and AKG N400 earbuds connection errors. The third beta version is releasing in South Korea and will come to other countries soon.

    Samsung is finally starting to announce an official roadmap for Android 12-based One UI 4 update to its Galaxy devices. The first schedule has now been spotted in Brazil, where the company has announced when the Galaxy devices will receive a stable Android 12 update. Note that this schedule is for Brazil, so other devices in major countries may receive it before these dates or later these dates. Like Telus operator in Canada has announced Galaxy S21 will get Android 12 version on November 23.

    According to the post, the new Galaxy Z Fold 3 will first receive a major update in December. The Galaxy S21 series will be getting it in January along with Galaxy Z Flip, Fold, Fold 2 & Flip 3 devices. In February, Samsung will roll out a new version for its older flagship devices. The Galaxy S20, S20 FE, Note 20, Galaxy S10+, A52s, A72 & Tab S7 will join the squad in February. In March, Galaxy S10, S10e, S10 Lite, Note 10, Note 10+, Note 10 Lite, and A52 have been scheduled.

    Official Android 12 Roadmap

    The Galaxy M62 will be the first M series model to receive it in May. The new Tab S7 FE, Tab S6, Tab S6 Lite will get it in May along with Galaxy A51 & Galaxy M52. All the remaining mid-range smartphones, tablets, and older devices have been listed in June 2022 and later months.

    As we said earlier, the schedule is only for Brazil. If you look at the past, then these dates may change. The major countries like the US, the UK, Germany, South Korea, India & China may receive a totally different roadmap. Refer images below for exact schedule.

    At the end of last month, Samsung stopped recruiting new users in the One UI 4 Beta testing program for Galaxy S21 series. Now after the fourth beta version, the Beta Operation Manager has confirmed there won’t be any further beta updates for the Galaxy S21 series. In the user’s answer at the South Korean Samsung Community, he said, the company will not dispatch any new updates. The next major update for the Galaxy S21 devices will be the official or stable Android 12-based One UI 4 version.

    The Beta Operation manager further mentioned all the issues that occurred in the fourth beta will be solved, and after correction, the final version will be delivered. Note that, there may not be a fifth beta update for the device, but Samsung might release a hotfix update if it is necessary. The manager hasn’t revealed the exact schedule for the One UI 4 stable rollout. As per his previous posts, it could happen before the end of this month.

    Now to make it clear, the official team member has answered to users about actual release date for beta testing. As per the official team, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ & Galaxy S21 Ultra will get One UI 4.0 beta version in September & October. And the previous Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ & Galaxy S20 Ultra will start to getting in October. That means, the beta version for Galaxy S21 could start in the last week of September in South Korea , and it will reach to other major countries in early October.
