WhatsApp Calling Now Support on Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 5

In our last article, I explained how you can use WhatsApp Messenger on your Galaxy Watch 4 & Galaxy Watch 5 series smartwatches. One by one I have shown you how you can get WhatsApp messages, view them, and see inside images, stickers, and emojis. Further, I also covered how you can use different input methods to reply to incoming messages. There is one area that was missing on these smartwatches, and that is WhatsApp calling support. These watches support everything but not the WhatsApp calling function.

But not anymore. In the latest WhatsApp app 2.22.19.11 update, the Galaxy Watch 4 & Galaxy Watch 5 watch support video calling. What does that mean? It means you can now receive, answer or reject WhatsApp calls from your smartwatch.

Before the update, the users were unable to get WhatsApp calling on the Galaxy Watches. And now with the new WhatsApp update, you can get alerts and also answer calls.

So how can you get WhatsApp calls on your Galaxy Watch, I will explain here.

To get the WhatsApp calls on your smartwatch, first, you have to download the latest 2.22.19.11 or above WhatsApp Messenger app version. The update is rolling out slowly so you should wait for your turn.

Once you update the app, then open WhatsApp and choose the number to whom you want to call.

Now tap on the calling icon, and it will start ringing. If you are receiving the calls, then you can see the WhatsApp number below the WhatsApp logo on your watch. The WhatsApp logo will differentiate normal calls from WhatsApp calls.

Some users say they see the WhatsApp logo, and some say they see the logo. But the main thing is now you can receive and answer WhatsApp calls.

Finally, the most important thing, is you should keep your internet on your smartphone.

  • WhatsApp, Instagram & Facebook Removed from Tizen Store

WhatsApp, Instagram & Facebook Removed from Tizen Store

This month, after the shutdown of the Tizen Community website and the Community app, now one more shocking news came for Tizen users. Facebook has finally removed all its apps from the Tizen Store. The popular apps WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger are now discontinued from the Tizen Store. Since the last June, Facebook had been sending messages to the users about the termination, and finally today that day arrived. Samsung has stopped making Tizen phones since 2017, and the last model in the market was Samsung Z4.

For five consecutive years, WhatsApp was the number one app in the Tizen Store by the usage and by the most downloads. The other famous social media app Line had already step back from the Tizen phones, so WhatsApp was the only medium for users to chat or make video calls with their friends.

I have posted a video on why WhatsApp, Facebook & Instagram removed from Tizen Store. Watch the video.

Also, the other social media apps Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger were in the top downloading apps, but now no longer serve the users. Unlike the ACL apps, these were launched by Facebook, and they received regular updates since the beginning.

The decision behind the termination is the lack of new Tizen smartphones in the market. Also, the devices which have been launched in the market is now more than 3 years old. The Samsung Z2 & Samsung Z4 are the most popular Tizen phones in the market. Still, many users in India, Bangladesh & South Africa are using these devices, and today we have received too many emails and messages from users about the situation. Many customers demand that Samsung or Facebook must bring all these apps on the Tizen, but looks like that may not happen.

Galaxy Watch Active 2 Now Supports WhatsApp Images

Samsung has today launched a new firmware update for Galaxy Watch Active 2 smartwatch. It is the little update as per the changelog but it brings one of the most crucial support to the watch. The firmware version R820XXU1BTA1 is now rolling out in South Korea & Germany. After the update, users can now see WhatsApp images on their Galaxy Watch Active 2. When the users receive WhatsApp notifications with pictures inside then users can view it. It is the first Samsung smartwatch to get this support and the WhatsApp is the first app to get it.

Before it, When users get any messages they were only able to view the text from the message and the images show a camera icon. Previously, to view the pictures users have to open the app on a smartphone. These days most of the WhatsApp notifications come with pictures inside. Specially, on the occasion of festivals & New Year, users send or receive image only messages. It is better to view all the incomings on watch, and again it is one step forward to use your smartwatch without mobile.

As we said earlier, the new firmware is available in South Korea & Germany. It has also brought general stability & improvements to the smartwatch. It is possible in the upcoming updates all the other apps like Facebook, Instagram & Twitter will get the same treatment.
