The Co-founder of WhatsApp Messenger says don’t use giant social media app Facebook. The statement has came after there is big news about Facebook scam. He says it is now time to leave Facebook when there is no security to user’s data. The WhatsApp Co-founder Brian Acton said it is shocking that Facebook is not trusted anymore and what it did with user’s data is not a good sign. On his Twitter account he posted a tweet as “It is time.” with a hashtag #deletefacebook. After the tweet many customers have reacted to it with negative comments about Facebook.
It’s all started when Facebook has officially declared Cambridge Analytica has misused user’s private data. In 2016 Facebook had been sold personal data of nearly 5 Million US customers to Cambridge Analytica for a election purpose. The data was sold to learn about people and use it in a election campaign. As per the experts, this is the reason Donald Trump has won the election. It looks like it turned into another scandal which cost $6 billion to Facebook. It’s shares had fallen dramatically after the news.
This wasn’t stopped here. After the election Facebook told Cambridge Analytica to delete all the user’s data from its server, but it’s found out that third party company hadn’t deleted it. This is now Facebook’s fault to sell personal data to data mining & analytics firm Cambridge Analytica. Within a 24 hours after the news many customers are now closing their Facebook accounts. It is not only happening in US but the users across the world are closing it.
The statement from Mark Zuckerberg has yet to come & we need to hear what he will say about this matter. Brian Acton had left Facebook a year before and now active with another social sharing firm Signal. Brian Acton had sold his stake in WhatsApp and invested $50 in WhatsApp rival Signal. Both apps WhatsApp Messenger & Facebook are available in Tizen Store. What do you think about this whole news? Share your opinion in the comments section.
