The latest report for wearable market has witness tremendous growth in Q3 2018. In this quarter wearable market has grown 21.7% and global shipments of wearable devices has reached to 32 million units worldwide. Interesting fact is in the last quarter Xiaomi has overtaken Apple in overall wearable market. Apple is dominant player in premium smartwatch category and Xiaomi always focus on its affordable devices.
Fitbit is on third place to sell most smartwatches and Samsung is surprisingly on fourth spot. Thanks to Fitbit Charge 2 and Charge 3, which are top selling watches from company. Samsung Galaxy Watch is the main reason South Korean company has witnessed huge growth in its smartwatch shipment. Samsung has healthy 91% YoY growth and that is more than any other companies. Apple has sold 4.2 million units and saw 54% growth in last three months.
Xiaomi’s success comes from its best selling Mi Band 3 fitness tracker, which turns into huge growth for Chinese company. It has gained 90.9% YoY growth and saw more demand from other countries than China. New Apple Watch Series 4 & last year’s Apple Watch Series 3 helped Apple to rule in smartwatch market and the number would be grow in this quarter.
In the new report Fitbit is seeing slight decline in its sales. Fitbit has decreased 3.1% YoY in shipments term and sold only 3.5 million units compare to 3.6 million same quarter last year. Huawei is another company in the list with its 20% growth, thanks to its Huawei Watch 2 & Watch GT.
