Smartwatches these days are not like essential wearables that only show heart rate & sleep rate functions. All the smartwatches are now expecting more apps & watch faces from the company. That’s why most of the companies like Oppo Watch, Huawei Watch & Amazfit Watch lineup are welcoming third-party apps. Now, Xiaomi is doing the same with the new Xiaomi Watch 2. It supports third-party apps for the smartwatch to get the most from it.
The app library is empty for now, but with time, we could see better apps in the app store for Xiaomi Watch 2 aka Watch Color 2. The apps require more battery power from the device, and Watch 2 comes with a 420mAh battery. It runs for 30 hours in GPS mode, and in normal mode, it lasts long for 12 days.
There is a battery-saving mode to extend battery life up to 24 days, mentions Xiaomi. The blood oxygen monitoring sensor is worth mentioning in the health features along with heart rate & sleep rate.
Xiaomi Watch 2 has a 1.43” AMOLED display with 326 PPI pixel resolution and comes with over 200 watch faces. In exercises, it pre-installed 117 sports modes, in which 19 activities have been labeled as ‘Professional”, which uses dual-band GPS outdoor.
The six-color straps (Orange, White, Green, Blue, Black & White) makes it easy to choose. The Watch 2 is on pre-order in China at 900 yuan for early birds, and 100 Yuan or $155/Rs. 11,500 in a regular price.
