Apple’s upcoming iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max could feature slightly larger displays, according to a new leak. The information comes from Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, who claims Apple is testing new display sizes for its 20th-anniversary iPhone lineup. According to the leak, the iPhone 20 Pro could feature a 6.41-inch display with a resolution of approximately 2686 × 1236 pixels. Meanwhile, the larger iPhone 20 Pro Max is reportedly being tested with a 6.96-inch display and a resolution of around 2912 × 1340 pixels.
iPhone 20 Pro Display Could Be Slightly Larger
For comparison, the current iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.27-inch display, commonly marketed as 6.3 inches, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max features a 6.86-inch display, marketed as 6.9 inches. The leaked iPhone 20 Pro display sizes therefore represent a relatively small increase. The Pro model could grow by around 0.14 inches, while the Pro Max could increase by roughly 0.10 inches.
The leaked resolutions also increase compared with the iPhone 18 Pro models. However, the resolution increase appears to closely match the larger physical display sizes, suggesting Apple could maintain a pixel density of around 460 pixels per inch. Interestingly, Digital Chat Station has previously suggested that the 6.96-inch iPhone 20 Pro Max display could be marketed as a 7-inch screen if the design reaches mass production.
iPhone 20 Pro Could Get a Quad-Curved Display
The bigger display is only one part of Apple’s rumored redesign.
The same leak claims Apple is testing a borderless, quad-curved display, meaning the screen could curve slightly around all four sides of the device. This would help create a more seamless appearance, with the metal frame and traditional bezels becoming less noticeable.
Apple is also reportedly working on thinner and brighter OLED panels for the anniversary iPhone. Previous reports have suggested that Apple could eventually move Face ID components under the display, along with the front-facing camera.
However, the latest information suggests Apple may still be testing a smaller Dynamic Island-style punch-hole design. This means the final iPhone 20 Pro design has not yet been finalized.
iPhone 20 Pro Launch Expected in 2027
Apple is expected to skip the iPhone 19 naming and move directly to the iPhone 20 lineup for its 20th anniversary. The iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max are currently expected to launch in September 2027, although Apple has not officially announced these devices.
For now, the display sizes and design details should be treated as early leaks rather than confirmed specifications. Apple is reportedly testing multiple approaches, so the final iPhone 20 Pro display could change before production.
Still, if these reports are accurate, Apple’s 20th-anniversary iPhone could combine a slightly larger screen with a much more seamless, curved display design.
