Garmin Announces Dexcom CIQ App to Track Diabetic Glucose Level
Garmin always put their user’s health on its first priority, and it is the reason it always launches new health services. In recent, the company has released HIIT workouts for select watches, a Pregnancy test for women users, and the new patent indicates the new driver drowsiness, as well as blood pressure features, will be coming soon. Along with these functions, Garmin has launched a new Dexcom CIQ app in the Connect IQ store. The app will help users track their real-time blood glucose levels using their supported Garmin devices.
Starting today, users can download the official Dexcom CIQ app from the Connect IQ store on Garmin watches. It will allow type 1 or type 2 diabetic users to put eyes on their real-time blood glucose levels on compatible watches and other devices. Once set up, you can check the level and its trends while doing the workouts. The app also shows real-time data and the history of the last three hours. This way, it will become easy to keep a close eye and take the right action.
At this time, not all the Garmin devices received app support. It works with Fenix 6 Pro, 6s Pro, 6x Pro, Fenix 6 Solar, Marq series, Vivoactive 4 series, Forerunner 245 Music, 745, 945, 945 LTE, Venu SQ Music, Venu series, Tactix Delta series, Quatix series, Edge 530, Edge 830, Edge 1030 & Edge 1030 Plus devices. Garmin promises the support will come to many other devices. Note that, right now it is compatible with only Dexcom G6 continuous glucose monitor (GCM).

YouTube Music App Comes to Older Wear OS 2.0 Watches
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic were the first watches to get YouTube Music app. At that time, Google hadn’t revealed when it will release an app for other Wear OS watches. Later, it announces to release of the app for other Wear OS watches, which are powered by Snapdragon Wear 4100/4100+ chipsets. Now, as the company mentioned, the music streaming app is available for Wear OS 2.0 running smartwatches. The older watches from Fossil, Oppo, Suunto, and Mobvoi can download the app from the Play Store for Wear OS.
The music streaming app delivers all the latest songs to your smartwatch. Users can search for any songs or find them from the recommended song list. It also gives you the option to download the songs on the watch to listen to them later in offline mode. Though it has a download option, it is only available for premium users.
If you are not a premium user, then you have very limited options like the Spotify music streaming app. It also requires connecting your phone-running YouTube account to get all the features.
In a Play Store listing, it mentions the app supports Moto 360 & TAG Heuer. Both watches come with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipsets. Previously, the app was launched for watches built with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 & 4100+ processors.
The update has rolled out in all the major countries, and you can download it from Play Store. If you are not seeing it yet, then wait a while to come to your device.

Garmin Adds New HIIT Workouts on Fenix 6 & Marq Series
Garmin has today released the latest 19.74 public beta update for Fenix 6 & Marq series watches. The new firmware has brought new workout modes and improvements to the current features. Unlike, the previous updates, which only launched to fixed various issues, the 19.74 beta version adds new workout profiles to these smartwatches. Garmin has included a HIIT activity profile and workouts along with snowshoe and tennis activities. The high-intensity interval training or HIIT workouts will challenge you and take your exercises to another level.
The snowshoe and tennis workouts are popular, and it is good to see them on Garmin watches. To add the workout modes on your Fenix or Marq watches, go to the Garmin Connect app. In the app, open the Menu – Training – Workouts – Create a Workout, and choose workout type. In this option, set up a new workout, and save it.
Further, the watch will now alert you about low battery life while music sync, so you should take action accordingly. The SpO2 measurement loading UI & Explore Sync app waypoint load times have been improved in the new update.
Furthermore, users will see enhancement in alarms that not going off when the watch is set on Max, Battery Mode. Also, the new piece of code comes to fix Connect IQ to improve its performance.
The new 19.74 beta firmware is available for Fenix 6, Fenix 6 Pro, Fenix 6s, Fenix 6s Pro, Fenix 6x Pro, and Marq series smartwatches. To install new firmware, you have to download the zip file on your computer and follow the given instructions.

Amazfit GTR 3, GTR 3 Pro & GTS 3 Launched with Major Changes
Zepp or formerly Huami has launched three next-gen smartwatches with stunning changes and Zepp OS software. The predecessors, Amazfit GTR 2 & GTS 2 had brought plenty of changes over the original Amazfit GTR & GTS, which were record-breaking devices in many countries. The third-gen watches are one step ahead in the looks and specs. The new Amazfit GTR 3 Pro has been added to the other GTR 3 & GTS 3. The Pro model comes with a beautiful design, third-party app & watch faces support, and crystal-clear 1.45” circular display.
The GTR 3 Pro has two physical buttons, SpO2, Amazon Alexa, sleep tracking, microphone, speaker, 2.3GB internal storage, and automatic workout modes. It has 10 loaded apps, and 150 watch faces that can support always-on display, and custom widgets.
It offers 12 days battery life in normal mode, and with GPS, it runs for 35 hours. The next Amazfit GTR 3 has a 1.39” display with 100+ watch faces, and AOD support but lacks custom widgets. It runs for 21 days in normal mode, and 35 hours in GPS mode.
The only rectangular display model is Amazfit GTS 3 with a 1.75-inch screen. It offers more than 100 watch faces with AOD support and custom faces. The GTS 3 can run up to 12 days on a single charge and 20 hours in GPS tracking.
The GTS 3 & GTR 3 lacks a loudspeaker and built-in music storage, so they can’t perform calls & listen to music without Bluetooth Headsets. The watches are available to buy in the US, the UK, Italy, Spain, France, and China in the first wave. The Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is priced at $230, and the GTR 3 & GTS 3 are available for $180 in these countries.

Amazfit GTR 3 & GTR 3e Cleared Anatel Certification in Brazil
The next-gen Huami or Zepp Health smartwatches in the Aamzfit lineup have been spotted on the Brazilian certification site. The Amazfit GTR 3 & GTR 3e have gone through Brazilian regulatory site Anatel to receive clearance to land in the country. It is same month last year, the Amazfit GTR 2 & GTS 2 had come out from FCC certification website, and now, this month company is ready with their
next successors. However, Amazfit GTS 3 & GTS 3e is not yet mentioned on the regulatory website.
As per the Anatel documents, the Amazfit GTR 3e will have rectangular display, and as usual, Amazfit GTR 3 will come with rounded display. The model number assigned for Amazfit GTR 3 is A2035, and the the other edition has A2040 number. Thanks to the Brazilian website Canaltech, we now know actual battery size of the next smartwatch. The Amazfit GTR 3 will get 440mAh battery, which is lower than what we have got on Amazfit GTR 2. The previous model has 471mAh battery to run enough for a week. We have to wait for a actual usage to see how much battery output we will get in a daily use.

The functions for the both models are still in the mystery box, though we can guess GTR 3 model will get some extra features compared to GTR 3e. This year, many companies have launched their flagship watches in the market. The industry players Samsung, Fossil & Apple have introduced Galaxy Watch 4, Fossil Gen 6 & Apple Watch Series 7, respectively. Strava Ends Support for Wear OS 2.x Running Watches
Strava has today announced it will discontinue the support for Wear OS 2.X.X running watches. Further, the company said it will only work with newer Wear OS 3 running smartwatches. It has posted this official announcement on its blog, where it clearly mentions Wear OS 3 support. It is surprising that the most of the smartwatches running in the market are based on Wear OS 2 version. It includes most of the popular watches like Fossil Gen 5 series, Oppo Watch, Suunto 7, Ticwatch Pro 3, Ticwatch E3, and more that runs on previous OS update.
In the market, only Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic run on new Wear OS 3 software. As per the Google announcement, in the future Fossil Gen 6, Ticwatch Pro 3 & E3 will get the OS 3 in 2022. That means apart from Samsung’s new watches, not a single smartwatch is running on this version, nor a sign of it in next few months. Strava should have waited few more months or year before terminating the support, as most users are still new to their watches.
If you are using Wear OS 2.x.x based smartwatch, then soon you will get the notice of the termination from Strava. If you are using Galaxy Watch 4 duo, then you don’t have to worry, and you can download the official Strava app from Play Store. There is no notice yet for older Tizen OS watches, WatchOS, Garmin & Fitbit watches.

Galaxy Buds Pro may Soon Get Noise Control Function
This week, Samsung has released a new feature called noise control function for the Galaxy Buds 2. The function contains two new features. First, the noise control function allows users to control the noise of just one earbud rather than both. The other features is to customize the listening to ambient sound. The users of Buds 2 can use it, when they get their hands on it. Previously, the option wasn’t there in the Galaxy Wearable app, and now the company has introduced it with the new buds. Now, as per the Buds Manager of Samsung at South Korea, the function will also come to the Galaxy Buds Pro soon.
Actually, it was the Buds Pro users who first demanded the function, but Samsung launched it with Buds 2. The Buds Manager said they had received various requests to launch the noise control function. It means after Galaxy Buds 2, the Buds Pro users can also use this function. Further, the Samsung manager mentioned the new feature is under review, and he will notify when it completes. Doble-tap edge of the earbuds is also the function which came later on Buds Pro from Buds+ earbuds.
With the Galaxy Buds 2, the company has also introduced activate hearing ambient sound during calls. There is no mentioning of the feature for the Galaxy Buds Pro. In the next firmware version, we will get a clear idea about which feature will come to the Buds Pro.

Spotify Offline Playback Feature Rolls Out for Wear OS Including Galaxy Watch 4
As promised by Spotify, the offline playback feature is now rolling out for Wear OS smartwatches. In the Google I/O event and later in Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 event, we got the hint to get the feature soon. Early than expected, the company has dispatched a needy function to the listening users. It will let you download any playlists or podcasts on their smartwatch and directly listen to the song via Bluetooth headsets or earbuds. It will allow you to leave behind your phone while jogging or in an outdoor workout.
The Spotify Offline Playback feature is available for Premium as well as free users but with restrictions. The free users can also use it, but they can only download Podcasts. To download music playlists & songs users need to upgrade to the Spotify Premium subscription. The process is simple. Download the Spotify app from Play Store, and choose the songs or albums you want to get offline. Finally, tap on the Download button, and it will be saved on your watch to listen to in the future.

As we checked on various forums, Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, TicWatch Pro 3 & Oppo Watch are currently receiving the app update. The other Wear OS watches received it in the US & in some European countries. And Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic are getting in South Korea. The new Galaxy watches still have to reach many users in other regions, so they might also receive it when they get their smartwatch.

Mi Smart Band 6 Gets Flashlight Feature in V1.0.4.38 Version
After a long time, Xiaomi has released the latest version for Mi Smart Band 6 with a new function. The smart band has received firmware version V1.0.4.38 with an added flashlight feature. It has also added more language supports for wide users, but at the moment, we don’t know which are those languages. The flashlight or torch is new to the Mi Smart Band 6, which will allow users to light up all the pixels on the main screen.
It is not a different function on a wearable that uses a flashlight of the camera. In this feature, when users tap on the flashlight option, then it will sparkle the main screen by lightening all the pixels. After activating this function, the main screen will turn all white, which will provide enough light in the dark area. It is useful when suddenly the light is gone in your room or house, and you don’t find your phone or device to light up the room. In this situation, you can turn your Mi Band into a helping tool, if you have worn it on the wrist.
These days, almost all smartwatches are providing flashlight options to users, and now Mi Smart Band 6 has received it. The latest V1.0.4.38 is now rolling out in the Kuwait, UK & Czechoslovakia, and soon hit many regions. Mi Smart Band 6 is now going on sale in the home country from many online retailers. Now, Xiaomi is updating its official pairing app, Mi Fit for the new smart band. Mi Band 5 V1.0.2.54 Update Brings Call of Duty Watch Faces
The rich library of watch faces is the most-liked part of Mi Band 5. The watch face storage has stored plenty of themes for every kind of user, including custom dials. On the occasion of Christmas & new year, Xiaomi had introduced two new dials to the smart band. Now, in the latest V1.0.2.54 update, Xiaomi has brought fresh looks to the Mi Band 5. The added watch faces are from the popular Call of Duty Mobile game. The fresh themes have faces of all the famous characters from the CoD game.
Along with it, some users on social media have spotted the “Cards” option on the global version of Mi Smart Band 5. The global version doesn’t support the NFC function, so it useless at the moment. The Cards menu is empty at this time, but I guess, it could be the preparation to launch the NFC version in the overseas market. Last year, Xiaomi had launched Mi Band 4 NFC in Russia & some European countries. There is a chance, we might see Mi Band 5 NFC model outside China in the coming weeks or months.

The latest Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro is the first smartwatch from the company that opened doors for other developers. It allows third-party developers to create their apps & watch faces for the GT 2 Pro smartwatch. In the beginning, it took some time to grab the attention of app creators, but now, it is moving slowly towards growth. When you open the App Gallery on your Watch GT 2 Pro, then you only see six apps in the store. Now, make it eight. Because two new developers have launched their apps. The Calculator & Tick Tick are two new apps launched for Watch GT 2 Pro.
Both Calculator & Tick Tick are essential apps to help you in daily life. With the calculator, you can calculate the basic numbers. The Tick Tick is a to-do list app that will help you to manage your upcoming essential working list. The calculator app is not advanced compared to smartphone calculator, but it is pretty responsive and capable to give you correct results. With the TickTick you can save your important works and other notes that you have to do in the whole day or the near future.
The two new apps are in their first version, so I guess, the official team will work on future updates to enhance the user experience and overall quality with new features. Amazfit GTS 2 & GTR 2 Getting Major Updates
Huami’s Amazfit GTR 2 and Amazfit GTS 2 are getting a brand new update. The update will not only bring in new features and functions, but it will now also support additional sports modes. Though the update is only limited to android users, for now, iOS users will have to wait for some more time for the latest version. Huami always dispatches new firmware for both Amazfit GTR & GTS families at the same time, and till now the legacy continues.
The update has already been reviewed by the various Android app stores and will be available to the users by version number 5.6.0. The new firmware also brings in new languages for user preference like Catalan, Czech, Greek, Serbian, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Hebrew, and Arabic. Previously, the watches supported only 12 sports modes, now it can support up to 90 different sports modes. It also has a new motion sensor for precise workout sessions.

The issue where the screen would turn on automatically with every new message has been fixed. You can also personalize the list of your workouts according to your preference. Further, you can list your favorite sport mode in the order you want, making your workout choice easier. The latest firmware is now rolling out in Europe & China. Amazfit GTR 2e & GTS 2e Spotted on FCC Database
The FCC database has revealed Huami is preparing to launch Amazfit GTR 2e & GTS 2e smartwatches in the coming weeks or months. Huami has already launched next-gen Amazfit GTR 2 & GTS 2 smartwatches in Europe, and soon both will come to the India & in other major markets. Now, the new FCC listing reveals the company is going to launch new versions of both these wearables. For your information, last week we have also spotted Amazfit GTS 2 Mini version on the same database, so there are more than one version to come. We haven’t spotted GTR 2 Mini, so we can’t say anything about it for now.
Coming back to Amazfit GTR 2e & GTS 2e, model number A2021 is assigned to GTS 2e and it has listed in FCC ID ‘2AC8UA2021‘. The Amazfit GTR 2e has model number ‘A2023’ and it has listed in FCC ID ‘2AC8UA2023‘. The leaked image on the FCC reveals the watches could also get Wi-Fi option to connect to the internet. The GTR 2 & GTS 2 has launched with lots of forward-looking functions, so we could also see plenty of them on the watches.

From the leak, we can say the Amazfit GTR 2e will get circular display like its predecessor, and the Amazfit GTS 2e will launch with rectangular design like as GTS & GTS 2. Huami will be quite busy to launch its next smartwatches. On November 17, the company will launch Zepp Z smartwatch with premium features. Later, we could see Amazfit GTS 2e, GTS 2 Mini and GTR 2e lineups in the market. We haven’t got any launch date for these wearables, so stay in touch to receive the announcement dates.

Amazfit GTS 2 Mini Goes Through FCC Site, Launch Imminent
Huami’s Amazfit GTS 2 Mini is set to a make global appearance soon, as of today the smartwatch got clearing from the FCC certification. The FCC is a Federal Communications Commission certification of the US, hence showing us the company’s plan to launch in the global market (North America and Europe). It also got CE marketing clearance done as that is a necessary step for selling products in the European Economic Area hence hinting us about its launching market.
The features will be quite similar to Amazfit GTS 2 but will be more pocket friendly as it’s the “mini” version of it. It will be having the same rectangular display as GTS 2 while the other variants of Amazfit like its GTR are having a circular display. The smartwatch is expected to have thick bezels and will be having 5 ATM water for sports like swimming.

We aren’t sure if the battery life will increase or will remain the same as 14 days. It will be having compact control on the right-hand side of the watch and will likely support 12 built-in sports modes as its predecessor. There also has been news about having a built-in GPS in the company’s Amazfit Bip U Pro but the same might not be included in this version as it’s an entry-level watch.
More speculations are yet to be known hence let us see what does this Mini variant has in store for us.
