Fossil Gen 7 Watches Passed by FCC & Bluetooth SIG, Launch Imminent

It is a new year and time for another Fossil watch to launch. Last year in August, Fossil announced Gen 6 watches, and now almost a year later, it is ready for the next watches. It is what FCC & Bluetooth SIG websites reveal. The Fossil Gen 7 watches have stopped at FCC & Bluetooth SIG sites and cleared all the necessary steps. The monikers that appeared on websites are DW14F1, DW14S1, DW14F1 & DW15S1.

We have come close to this conclusion by looking at the monikers of previous models. Fossil had assigned DW13F1 code to the Gen 6 smartwatch. As per Gadgets & Wearables, the code DW15S1 may be assigned to Skagen Falster Gen 7, which is going to be launched along with other models, or later somewhere in the launching month.

We don’t have a bunch of rumors about the next Gen 7 smartwatches. What we know from the rumor mill is Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100 chipset might be packed inside these wearables. The previous Gen 6 has Snapdragon Wear 4100+ processor inside it.

It is not the first concern for Fossil users, but it’s the Wear OS version. After almost a year, Fossil Gen 6 & TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra are waiting to get Wear OS 3.0 version. Still, the official team hasn’t confirmed when the update will release.

On the other hand, Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic are now enjoying Wear OS 3.2 version. Top on that, today, Samsung has released the One UI Watch 4.5 beta for Galaxy Watch 4 series. Samsung could also announce Galaxy Watch 5 with Wear OS 4.0 version.

To counter the Samsung watches and the upcoming Google Pixel Watch, Fossil should launch Gen 7 watches with the newest Wear OS software. The company may announce these watches before the end of June with a launch date of July.
