It was the year 2017 when Apple had launched Watch Series 3 smartwatch. No doubt it was a fully loaded watch with advanced features. It helped Apple to gain major market shares in the wearable segment. Since then, the company is selling it in the overall market with discounted prices. It might stop from next September, and there on, there won’t be any Series 3 model. As per the source, Apple has finally decided to discontinue Watch Series 3 from the production house and also from Apple Stores.
Last year, Apple has launched Watch Series 7 & Watch SE with new features and decided to continue Series 3. The company has terminated Apple Watch Series 4, Series 5, and Series 6 but refused to stop the third-gen smartwatch. Now even if Apple doesn’t want to get rid of it, it has no other choice but to discontinue it. The source says this year too Apple will bring some new features, and the Watch Series 3 computing power doesn’t meet the requirement to run it.
Next September, Apple will reveal Watch Series 8 with forward-looking features. It could get skin temperature monitors, blood pressure measurements, and some other functions. These all features including ECG, SpO2 & body composition require better hardware parts, so it is better to leave out Apple Watch Series 3. The current users which are using the watch may receive the next software update with supported features.
