Garmin Launches Forerunner 955 Solar & Forerunner 255

Garmin has added two new smartwatches to its watch segment in the GPS running watches. It has announced Forerunner 955 Solar & Forerunner 255 wearables. As the name reveals, the Forerunner 955 comes with solar charging support that will keep your battery up. The Fenix 6 series and Fenix 7 series watches have solar charging capability, and now one more Garmin watch has it. The Forerunner 255 & 255s are much more affordable than the other and has a music edition.

The 955 Solar has a touchscreen of 1.3-inch with Corning Gorilla Glass DX protection. Once you fill-up the battery, then it will not end until 20 days when you use it in moderate mode. It is 5ATM water-resistant and weighs 53g.

With the 32GB internal storage, users can store hundreds of songs to listen to during outdoor exercises. Also, the music playback is possible with Spotify & Amazon Music by downloading them from Connect IQ store. It can get benefits from Garmin first-party apps, watch faces, and other services.

Garmin claims the watch will run for 8.30 hours straight in continuous GNSS function and music playback features keep active. In the US, Forerunner 955 Solar is available for $599.99 in Black & Whitestone color options. There is also a non-solar Forerunner 955 on sale for $499.99.

The Forerunner 255 has a 46mm case and the 255s variant has a 41mm case. It offers 14 days of battery life in normal mode and 30 hours in GPS mode. The regular variant prices start from $349, and the Music edition is $50 costlier. Both Forerunner 955 & 255 models are now available to purchase.
