You Will Soon Unlock Android Phones & Laptops Using Wear OS

Google is working on a new feature that could unlock your Android smartphone, Android tablets, and laptops using Wear OS smartwatches. On the official Google Blog, the company has revealed its plan for future updates. In the CES 2022 event, it has given a glimpse of the new feature that will soon add to Wear OS software. It hasn’t been mentioned when the function will available for the watches, but it could launch in the second quarter.

Initially, the unlocking feature will work with Android-phone, Google Chromebook laptops, and Android tablets. There is no mention of the other Windows or Mac laptops. At the current, this feature is available on Android Pixel phones which supports Chromebooks. With the Wear OS, Google is now trying to make it more useful for users. It is not the first company to launch it. It is already available on Apple Watch, Mi Watch & Mi Band series wearables.

Wear OS Unlock Function

As per sources, Google may launch its first smartwatch Pixel Watch this year, which may be more suitable for this function. It could also come to other smartwatches with Wear OS 3 software updates including Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic. In this quarter, Google will release Wear OS 3 to Fossil Gen 6, Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra & ES, and Oppo Watch 2.
