Samsung rolled out a new update for the SmartThings app that improves the relevancy of the Galaxy Watch series with enhanced control. The update empowers users to get effective control over connected devices from their wrists. It introduces some new features for SmartThings that includes support for doorbell cameras, thermostats, and Samsung Smart TVs. The new version is 1.1.08 and is available for Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, and Galaxy Watch 4.

The update extends the function of controlling third-party devices to the Galaxy Watch series, which was previously available only for smartphones. It means now you can get effective control over more devices like SmartTags, thermostats, window blinds, and air purifiers from your wrist. It allows users to watch the Livestream video from home and doorbell cameras with the help of WebRTC support.

The feature empowers users to see who’s at their door through the watch and even interact with them. Further, the update enables users to adjust the temperature of thermostats. You can also control the fan speed of air purifiers from your smartwatch.

Interestingly, users will be enabled to open, close, and manually adjust the level of window blinds. Samsung also brings a feature that enables users to control the ring and ring volume for SmartTag.

With the new app version, it is now more convenient for Galaxy Watch users to control their Smart TVs having Bluetooth support. Samsung users have to swipe right from watch faces to get access to SmartThing. To get the latest app update for SmartThings, go to the store on your smartwatch and install it.
