Airtel will Rollout 5G Services in India This Month

The auction for the 5G spectrum in India has finished and the biggest players Airtel, Vi, Jio & Adani Group participated in it. The carriers spent over $19 billion to win the bid to launch 5G services in the country. Now, after winning most of the bids, Airtel has announced to roll out a 5G network in India this month. In the major cities, Airtel will start its services with attractive prices. The cities and the prices have not been disclosed yet by the company.

The biggest telecom company in India, Airtel has won spectrum 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz, and 3300MHz bands for sub-6GHz 5G and in the 26GHz band for mmWave. The company has reserved rights to launch 5G for the next 20 years, which has acquired a total of 19.8GHz of the spectrum.

Indian users are waiting for next-gen 5G services in the country for a long time. Smartphone companies like Samsung, Apple, OnePlus, and Google are already selling 5G smartphones in the country.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S20 series in the country with a 5G network. Apple launched it with iPhone 11 series, and OnePlus has also its smartphones since few of its previous flagship devices. Now, Indian users can 5G mobiles at an affordable price of Rs. 15,000 in the country.

There is a chance, that Airtel will start rolling out its 5G network on 15 August, which is Independence day in India. In the main cities, the cities from Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Banglore, Hyderabad, or Jaipur will get it first on the launching day.
