The main rival watch to the Galaxy Watch 4, Apple Watch Series 6 & Fitbit Sense has finally been launched by Fossil. The new Fossil Gen 6 comes with some essential functions and mighty hardware parts to stay in the smartwatch game. It is one of the early wearables to power with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Wear 4100+ chipset. It is next-gen Soc to help load apps 30% faster, consume less power, and provides better multitasking. Sadly, you will not get Wear OS 3 version at the launch. It runs on previous Wear OS 2 software.
Though it is not running on Wear OS 3, the company has promised to bring it in early 2022. The SpO2 sensor has arrived on the Fossil watch, and you can measure your blood oxygen level at any time. Sleep tracking has become more intelligent, and now, it can detect your daily nap too. You can make or receive calls from Gen 6 by using a built-in microphone and speaker.
It comes with a 42MM stainless steel case, which is a 1.28-inch color display. The Gen 6 has Accelerometer, Altimeter, Compass, Gyroscope, heart rate, and PPG sensors. The smartwatch offers 1GB RAM & 8GB internal storage to save offline music, saved screenshots, and other images. Talking about music, you can use Spotify with an offline music feature, though you have to wait a little longer for YouTube Music.
With Wear OS by Google platform, you can unlock apps like Google Play, Google Pay, Google Assistant, Google Fit, and other third-party apps from Play Store. In the connectivity, you will get Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 & GPS functions. In the US, Fossil Gen 6 goes on preorder for $299. You can also select your favorite 18mm color strap for extra money.
