Galaxy Watch 6 to have OLED Display by BOE

Seriously, we are not even getting Galaxy Watch 5, and now rumors are talking about next year’s Galaxy Watch 6 smartwatch lineup. According to the new report, Samsung is to use an OLED display panel on its next unconfirmed Galaxy Watch 6 series. The report further mentions that the South Korean company is talking with Chinese company BOE to develop a smartwatch display panel for 2023’s Galaxy Watch model. If this happens, it will be the first time Samsung will use any other manufacturer to make a smartwatch display.

Talking about the BOE company, then in the past, it has made OLED displays for some mid-range Galaxy smartphones. The latest Galaxy A13 & Galaxy A23 in the market are also using the same display technology made by a Chinese company.

The report also claims that Samsung has hired the same company to make its displays for flagship Galaxy devices. The BOE will make displays for Galaxy foldable phones and other high-end devices in the upcoming years. Of course, it is not about Galaxy Z Fold 4 & Flip 4, which will be built with Samsung displays.

Galaxy Watch 6 Display Panel

It is too early to come to any conclusion as the news is still in the rumor mill. We will confirm it if Samsung says more about it at their official conference. For now, Samsung’s all focus will be on the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 & Watch 5 Pro release event.

On August 10, the company will unveil Galaxy Watch 5 series with new features like body temperature function. This year there won’t be any watch with a touch rotating bezel, which will make them budget-friendly in the market.
