With the new features, today, Samsung launched Galaxy Watch 5 & Watch 5 Pro smartwatches. There won’t be a Classic variant this year, and it replaced with the new Pro model. Along with the iconic classic model, Samsung has discontinued the physical rotating bezel. The Galaxy Watch 5 series only have a touch rotating bezel if users want to use it. In terms of design, the regular Watch 5 comes in 40mm & 44mm sizes. The bigger Watch 5 Pro offers only a 45mm size.

All the watches are powered by Samsung Exynos W920 chipset along with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. As the company mentioned, both watches will run on Wear OS 3.5-based One UI Watch 4.5 version from the first day of launching.

In the new feature, there is the most-talked skin temperature function for both watches. In addition, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro gets exclusive Route workout, turn-by-turn Directions, and Trackback features for outdoor enthusiasts. With these features, Samsung attempts to catch Garmin in the fitness section.

The Pro variant also received a bigger 590mAh battery, which claims to run for 80 hours on a single charge. The Watch 5 with a 40mm size has a smaller 284mAh battery and the 44mm variant has a 410mm battery. Further, the regular model comes with sapphire display protection, and the Pro model has a Titanium case.

In other features, both Galaxy Watches offer ECG, BP, SpO2, heart rate, sleep score, BIA, NFC, GPS, and many more functions. In pricing, Galaxy Watch 5 starts with a $279 price tag, and the Pro model is available for $449. Users can now pre-order the watches with the availability in the next few days.
