Samsung’s EVP & Head of Customer Experience Office at Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics, Patrick Chomet confirms Google Assistant is coming to Galaxy Watch 4 this summer. He mentioned Google & Samsung will deliver a faster and better version of Google Assistant for the Samsung smartwatches. The company launched the Watch 4 series in August with Wear OS 3, and since then, both companies are promising to bring voice assistants. Finally, we might have narrowed the time gap until the summer end.
Patrick Chomet further revealed the company’s plan along with Google to deliver better services for smartwatches. Both companies will work together to launch optimized services for Galaxy Watch 4. The Google Assistant on the watch will work as a “faster and more natural voice interaction, enabling quick answers, and on-the-go help” service, cleared official member. With the enhanced functionality, the Assistant app will be capable to browse, control, and playing/changing Spotify songs on the smartwatch.
For the other Google apps and services, Mr. Patrick used the words, “the most comprehensive and seamless wearable device experience with Android smartphones.” By the answer, we can assume more updates will be coming to Google apps and services on Galaxy Watch 4 & upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 series. The exact timeframe is not available for the Google Assistant release date, though it could roll out in June.
Interesting installation. Easy on a Moto Stylus 5G, Took a little more time and manipulation on a Samsung Note 8. The installed app works just beautifully on both,
Great!!! Love Google Assistant on G4!
