Every year users ask whether there is WhatsApp on Huawei Watch to communicate with their friends via smartwatch. Well, the answer is basically no every year, and still, the answer is the same. Facebook developers are not seeing that much value in the Huawei Watch GT or Watch GT 2 so they could work on it. Actually, years ago the Instagram app was launched on Huawei Watch 2 & 2 Pro that runs on Wear OS, but later the company removed it by receiving poor experience & the need for heavy storage space to install the app. It was the only social media app that launched on smartwatches, on the WatchOS as well as on Tizen & Wear OS wearables.
The same goes for WhatsApp, it takes much more storage to install. Now Huawei Watch GT & GT 2 comes with minimal storage space and both runs on Huawei’s LiteOS software. Even it doesn’t include WhatsApp on the watch, there is still a way to use WhatsApp on Huawei Watches. You may not get all that you want, but with it, you can interact with your friends & family, right from the wrist. Here is a way to use WhatsApp on Huawei Watch GT & GT 2 smartwatches.
WhatsApp on Huawei Watch GT & GT2
1. On your paired smartphone, download the Health app
2. Open Health app and go to Devices
3. Search for your device
4. After that, you will see Notifications, select it
5. In the Notifications, you will see all the downloaded apps
6. Scroll down until you will see WhatsApp Messenger
7. Activate the button in front of WhatsApp to get the messages
When you get the new message on your smartphone then you will get notified on the smartwatch. Swipe up or down to view the message. To delete the message, swipe to the right. You can delete all messages by selecting the Clear All option. Due to the limited storage space, you can only save up to 10 messages at a time. When you get more than 10 messages then the latest 10 messages will be saved.
By following these steps you can get the new WhatsApp messages on the main screen. You can only view the message though right now you can’t reply to it, you can delete it. Note that to get the notifications on the Huawei Watch, you must allow Whatsapp notifications on your paired smartphones. If you have muted some groups or contacts in WhatsApp account then those messages will not come to smartwatches.
