Yes, you will not miss your WhatsApp on the Apple Watch Series 6, Series 7 & Watch SE.

I don’t know, if Apple Watch is not getting any premium quality apps, then which other platforms will get it? Since the beginning, many users are waiting for native WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Signal, Twitter, and other apps on Apple Watches. It’s fine if the smartwatch doesn’t offer you native apps. There is a way you can use WhatsApp like an iPhone version.

Yes, you can get WhatsApp notifications, view the messages including images, reply to them with text, Emojis, & other formats, and delete them. For such first-time users, here is the guide to using WhatsApp on Apple Watch Series 6, Series 7 & Apple Watch SE.

WhatsApp on Apple Watch Series 7

1. Download WhatsApp on iPhone

To use the app, you have to first download & install WhatsApp on your paired iPhone. Get it from the App Store, and log in to it. Are you using the app already? Then move to the second step.

2. On iPhone Go to Settings – Notifications

Once installed an app on your iPhone, go to the Settings option. It is necessary to allow the notifications, so head to Settings.

3. Scroll down below & tap on WhatsApp Messenger

In the Notification option, you will see the WhatsApp Messenger app, tap on it, so you could move to the next step.

4. Enable Allow Notifications & Show in the Notification center

To get permission, you have to enable the toggle. Activate the toggle which is located in front of Allow Notifications & Show in the Notification Center option.

5. Now open the Watch app

The official Watch app is available on your paired iPhone. It contains all the settings and other important information on your smartwatch. You can also control most of the settings of your Apple Watch from the app. Open it.

6. In the app, open Notifications

Again you have to go to the notification option, but this time in the Watch app. It is the section where you can control all the app notifications.

7. Scroll down until you find WhatsApp

Here is the list of all your downloaded apps on your paired iPhone. Now, scroll down below until you found the WhatsApp app.

8. Activate the toggle

Finally, you have reached the step to receive the notifications on Apple Watch Series 6, Series 7 & Apple Watch SE. Activate the toggle to turn on the notifications.

When you go through all these steps, the app will allow you to send messages on the Apple Watch. Note that, if the Do Not Disturb or Flight mode is turned on on your iPhone or Apple Watch, then you won’t get notified. Also, make sure, you haven’t personally muted any friends or WhatsApp Groups. In such a case, you won’t receive those messages on the smartwatch.

Apple Watch Series 6, Series 7 & Watch SE have packed with increased battery life, so as result, you will get longer battery life. A better battery means you can communicate with friends using a smartwatch. You can use Siri, a keyboard, stickers, Emojis, and Bitmojis to chat with your friends or family. If you find difficulties in these steps, then ask me any questions.

  1. Hi Madhav,
I am using an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I also have an Apple watch series 7. Following your instructions, I did not come across “WhatsApp Messenger”. I have also read that the only way to use WhatsApp on an Apple watch is to download an App called WatchChat 2. A message sent to me, appeared on my iPhone but not on my watch, as no WhatsApp installed. Can you advise please? Many thanks

  2. I’ve downloaded the app. The watch is saying the phone is not reachable, but it’s paired and is right next to it?

  3. Hi. Can you tell me how can I download whatsapp media including videos, images and sound files on my Apple watch series 6?
Some of the apps like Chatify and WatchApp aren’t working properly

  4. Yes but if I want to send a whatsapp message (not replying to someone) it’s impossible, isn’t it?
